Lehman Brothers

Panic is everywhere. In the newspaper, on the TV and the internet everything seems to be crumbing around our ears. For 5,000 people at Lehman Brothers they must be struggling with so many emotions right now from panic, despair, sorrow, anger and loss.

What on earth do you do with a situation like this?

One thing that people often forget is that they are allowed to go through the grieving process. Google it, look it up and do a bit of research for yourself. By being thrown a curve ball like this your world is suddenly in temporary turmoil.

The important word there is temporary. Important for two reasons:-
1: It’s not permanent, so it WILL end.
2: It’s not instant! Unfortunately it won’t end right away.

So give yourself time to go though the motions and emotions. Allow yourself to be sad and upset, anger often follows but soon after comes strength.

That is when to use the energy, as the anger passes over to clarity.

Now is the time to take a breath and plan your next step.

Just give it time, it will come but make sure you grab the moment with both hands when it does!

Welcome to the new website!

Change is GOOD!

Of course as a life coach I have to make sure that I “walk the talk”. My old website was bursting at the seams from all the changes and tweaks I’d made over the last 12 months and frankly it just needed a complete over haul.

I was listening to one of my favourite pod casts and they were talking about revamping their own site and converting it to WordPress. Now it doesn’t take much for me to find something that’s new and start to do some research on it. So after just a few hours I had managed to completely rebuild my website using WordPress.

Once that had been completed, I needed to tweak a few things to get it right. Then I decided to have another look at the options that were now out there for the scheduling tool that I use. The old one wasn’t terribly user friendly and frankly a bit too grey for my liking. So off to Google I went searching! I tried and bought a couple of packages, the first one was just a complete nightmare, but then I decided to bite the bullet and spend a bit more money on something that really looked the business.

It’s a massive improvement! I’m stunned at how things have changed over the last year, it really was worth the effort of looking around and trying out a few packages. After some modification and tweaks of the colours (lime green didn’t really suit my site) I’ve now integrated the scheduling system directly into my website.

Now I was really on a roll, so the next thing was the Coaching Appraisal Survey. Again this was based on another 3rd party site and it didn’t really fit into the colour and general layout of the old site. I found a wonderful plugin that works directly with WordPress and soon after I had a perfectly integrated survey snuggly fitted directly into the site.

After all this I did a bit more tweaking and then thought to myself “in for a penny, in for a pound!” and decided to change the old banner at the top of the page.

I’m sure that there will be a lot more tweaking before I’m really finished, but so far I’m really pleased with the way it’s turned out.

Also now that I’m using WordPress you will see that I have a feed back form at the bottom of a lot of pages, plus I now have this new Blog section where I will be keeping everyone up to date on the latest offers, reviews of some of the best coaching resources and general coaching information. As it’s a Blog this also gives you the chance to feed back on any of my posts.

Give it a try! Let me know what you think of the new website, or post me a comment or question that you my have on the coaching services I provide or even just coaching in general. I’d love to hear from you and please remember that the question that is on your mind maybe of many others as well! So go ahead and ask.
